PH.D. WATER RESOURCES ENGINEERING
Jason Kelley
Jason Kelley researches water in agricultural and the environment. Previously, he worked for two years as a research engineer with the Water Management Unit of USDA Agricultural Research Service, and for three years as an assistant professor in the Department of Soil and Water Systems at the University of Idaho. He received a PhD in Water Resources Engineering at Oregon State University in 2016. He studies crop water requirements, irrigation efficiency and consumptive water use, evapotranspiration, and environmental thermodynamics using eddy-covariance flux measurement, machine learning (artificial intelligence) for interpreting complex environmental data, and water requirements in a changing climate for diverse crops, orchards, vines, alfalfa and forage. In his spare time, Jason enjoys building guitars and working on farm projects.
